Chemistry

GCSE Chemistry is a course that delves into the science of matter—what it's made of, how it behaves, and how substances interact. You’ll explore a range of topics to understand the principles that govern chemical reactions and properties.

You’ll begin with the basics of atomic structure, learning about atoms, elements, and the periodic table. This includes understanding how elements combine to form compounds and the nature of chemical bonds.
The course covers chemical reactions, including how and why they occur, and the various types of reactions such as combustion, oxidation, and acid-base reactions. You’ll study reaction rates, equilibrium, and how different factors influence these processes.

You’ll also explore the properties and uses of different substances, including metals, non-metals, and polymers. This includes learning about materials, their reactions, and their practical applications in everyday life.
Another key area is the study of quantitative chemistry, which involves calculating concentrations, yields, and the amounts of substances involved in reactions.
