Dual Award Science
GCSE Dual Award Science is a course that covers the basics of biology, chemistry, and physics, giving you a well-rounded understanding of all three sciences. It’s called “dual award” because you earn two GCSEs for completing the course.
In biology, you’ll learn about living organisms, their structures, functions, and interactions. Topics include cells, genetics, human biology, ecosystems, and the environment. This helps you understand the living world and how life processes work.
Chemistry focuses on the substances that make up matter, their properties, and how they interact. You'll study atomic structure, the periodic table, chemical reactions, and the principles of organic and inorganic chemistry. This gives you insight into the materials that make up the world around us and how they change.
Physics deals with the principles of energy, forces, and the nature of the universe. You'll explore topics like motion, electricity, waves, and the structure of atoms. This part of the course helps you understand the fundamental laws that govern physical phenomena.
